Vinylspot
Looking to pass on your collection?
Whether it’s a few carefully chosen collector’s items or a lifetime’s worth of listening, we’re always interested in hearing what’s in your crates, on your shelves or in your uncle’s attic. At Vinylspot, we buy records that matter. The ones with history, groove, and lasting musical weight.
There’s a certain kind of magic that lives inside a record collection. It’s not just the sound. It’s the hours spent collecting, digging, scouring markets, lurking on blogs, researching labels, reading liner notes and late-night listening sessions… But sometimes, those shelves get heavy. Maybe you’re downsizing, moving, or just ready to pass the wax on to someone who’ll love it like you did. That’s where we come in.
Original pressings, underground gems, private labels, overlooked masterpieces. We know what they mean. Our mission is simple: to give great records a second life, in the hands of people who care.
We believe in vinyl as culture, not commodity. So when we buy, we buy with respect. Every collection tells its own story, and we treat it that way. From the lifelong collector with wall-to-wall Blue Notes, to the attic find that’s been sleeping since the ‘70s. We buy records with soul: Jazz, Rare Groove, Hip Hop, Funk, Reggae, Dub and the sounds that connect them. The pressings that shaped scenes, soundtracked lives, and still hum with energy decades later.
When it’s time for your collection to change hands, we make sure it’s treated with the care it deserves and that it ends up in the right ones. Whether it’s 5, 50 or 5000 records, we’ll make it easy, fair, and transparent.
Tell us about your collection
Send us a few photos of your records: spines, covers, or stacks that show what you’ve got. If you’re organized, a list (Excel, PDF, or Discogs export) works too. The key is: we need to see what records you’ve got.
Let’s talk
Once we’ve seen your list or photos, we can often give you a rough valuation straight away. For larger or more complex collections, we’ll arrange a closer look.
Collection or visit
If you’re nearby, drop by our space and bring your records with you. we’ll make you coffee and talk records. If not, we’ll come to you wherever you are and you make us a coffee! :)
Get in Touch
We handle each collection personally. Playing, grading, and researching where needed. Condition and rarity matter, of course, but so does taste: the feel of the music, the story behind the label, the quality of the pressing. Once we’ve gone through everything, we’ll make you a clear, fair offer; whether your collection is filled with original Blue Note pressings, sealed ‘90s hip-hop, or forgotten private label jazz sessions, we’ll make sure it’s valued right.
Payment
Once you accept our offer, payment is made directly. Cash or bank transfer is our standard, but if you prefer we can also arrange trades or give you a store credit.
get in touch
We value original pressings, well-kept vinyl, and records that carry a sense of musical history. Whether your collection is 5, 50 or 5000 records, we’ll take the same careful approach.
Why sell to us?
We’re collectors first, buyers second. Whether we buy a few records or a whole collection, it doesn’t vanish into storage; it joins a living catalogue where sound and context still matter. We don’t rush the process or cut corners; we listen, read the runouts, feel the weight of the sleeve.
We don’t see vinyl as inventory; we see it as history, art, and craft. Selling to Vinylspot means your records keep circulating among people who care about the music as much as you do – and that you’re paid fairly for it.
FAQ
Do you buy my records?
Absolutely. If your vinyl is in good condition, we’re all ears and we pay accordingly. Jazz records, rare groove, reggae, dub, hip hop and even psych and rock. Call us, drop us a quick line or check out our extensive section on ‘Selling your Records’ to get the full breakdown on how we buy, grade, and value incoming collections.
Do you buy all genres?
We love musical diversity, but some genres like Disco or Death Metal aren’t really our cup of tea. We’d be happy to refer you to some of our (niche) colleagues! Condition also matters. Records with heavy wear, mold, or warping simply can’t be resold.
Can I sell my whole collection at once?
Absolutely. From small stacks to full-blown attic discoveries, we can evaluate entire collections. We’ll sort, grade, and make you an offer.
What determines the price of a vinyl record?
The price of a vinyl record is determined by a combination of factors including condition, edition, pressing, country of issue, release date, record label, and overall supply and demand. Records in excellent condition, especially first pressings or original editions, tend to be most valuable. Limited runs, rare misprints, or copies tied to notable history can drive prices extremely high, while common mass-produced releases may be worth very little. Variations in how many copies were pressed, where they were manufactured, and whether they are early or later editions all influence collector interest and final value.
What do you pay for a vinyl record?
When we assess a vinyl record, we estimate its likely selling price based on condition, past sales, demand, and how quickly we expect it to sell. Our offer typically ranges from 25% to 70% of that estimated price, with higher percentages for rare or highly sought-after records.
